About...

My name is Christopher Jack, a son of the farmers(my parents), love design, life and something else interesting. I am very good at creating simple and backward-compatible interfaces and websites using a standards-based methodology. I am currently living in Xiamen, China, where's a small but beautiful and peaceful city.

about me

In the early 80's, a baby was born in a very small and normal village - Huxiang, Fujian Province, China, that's my loved hometown where's surround with mountain and green farmlands. After I grew up, I found that I got a family that my daddy is talented to create something and my mom always smiles to us and the hard time of life, well, there's a family that has the new-born eggs everyday(almost) also. Sure thing that I love my family, design and life. I'd love to create or make something useful or interesting for people as my daddy did.

I am not a Christian, but I read Bibles and know a little about that, it's a good book and even feeling better to be with my friends who are Christians. Well, my grandma and mom are Buddhists.

I believe in: Live is beautiful, everything is going to change, being modest and humorous. You couldn't know how these nice things support my life so far.

Of course, design is the important part of my life, so what am I doing when I am not doing design?

Well, I love playing football, I am a huge fan of Manchester United F.C.;
I love drawing sketches and wireframes for fun or for work - that's kind of coooool thing I've ever met in my life;
Without doubt that I am a big fan of Apple things - whatever that apple for eating or the apple for using, actually I have a Macbook Pro(my big brother got me that nice thing!) and an iPod nano 3, then I found they're becoming a part of my life, "pretty cool, huh?"(Steve Jobs likes saying that, also);
And in shortly, I love reading(papered books), English(that's a window to get into another different world for me), music, photographing and robots(I even controlled the FANUC robots with a Control Panel myself before)!

So what about my job history? Firstly, I graduated as the bachelor's degree of Computer Science&Tech in Jimei university, Xiamen, China. Secondly, I am interested in design and got a professional training at an art gallery which was creating and selling paintings before I went to university. So, after I graduated from university, I went into some web design companies. I am really enjoying with creating a website that can work for the people who use it with the attractive interface. Web design is a kind of thing that can help people do their work easily and get the info what they're looking for quickly, and meanwhile, web design is that thing can let you know that a beautiful, planned and logical interface can help solving people's problem or need. And plus, I think web design is a really interesting thing to be with. After 2 years' work experience in companies, I started up a design studio called 3eSmile Design Studio with the other 3 guys. By now, the studio runs well, We've done with some projects, small and big. And I am currently working for myself, yeah, like a freelancer, but to the different part, I have a team to work with, I do UX/UI things and the other guys are in charge with the back-end coding and businesses.

Creating with Adobe Photoshop, and handed coding with Coda, designc7.com is a web-standards compatible site that is talking about design, tech thread & life with you. Mainly that this site is personal place for blogging and having you a showcase of my works, I'd love to share the ideas about design & life with you, and also, there will be a lab for my interesting idea(sometimes). And even it can contact people and/or make friends each other here =)

Got question about "designc7"? It's the abbreviation of "design chapter 7" - here's the logo. You know, I love reading, I got this idea when I was reading at "...design chapter 7" of a great book. I hope I could do something with this way: read -> write -> design.
